  • Even if Embiid played all games this season, he is still not as good as Jokic. He is a better defender, but on offense he cannot even be compared to the Joker. And finally, Jokic is a leader. Embiid without Simmons wouldn’t get 76ers in Eastern Conference playoffs. Jokic managed to push Denver to number 3 spot IN THE WEST!

  • Absolutely disgusting. First this Jokic disrespect and there's literally NO ONE talking about Gobert being a 3x DPOY. It's like they really don't respect anything about anyone from a smaller market team. SMH NBA media is dying out quickly, but not quick enough.

  • To call this segment trash, is disrespectful to garbage. At least garbage just sits there silently and stinks unlike this nonsense. Jokic averaged more rebounds, assists, and steals. He shot better from 2, 3 and the line. He would have had more points than Embiid too if the refs would actually call some fouls when Jokic gets hacked. For advanced metrics Jokic had a net rating of 21 compared to 17 for Embiid. Jokic not only led the NBA in win shares, but also in win shares per 48 minutes which takes away any of this participation award nonsense. Denver also won only 2 fewer games despite playing in the tougher conference and having a way worse bill of health for the supporting cast than the 76ers. Jokic is also average more points, rebounds, and assists than Embiid in the playoffs so I have no clue why they wanted to point to 1 dominant game from Embiid as if that's a game changer. All 3 of these guys should be permanently banned from talking about sports for money. Absolute travesty that real journalists have to work in no name towns while taking on second and third jobs while these clowns get to make trash content.

  • The award isn't "most dominant player when available". If it was, Steph and Joel would be ahead of Jokic. Jokic was not only available, but largely ran the offense for his team, something with a lot of "value", something neither Joel or Steph did. Also, citing playing in a small market as a reason to not give Jokic MVP really shows that L.A. bias.

  • I said about 3 years ago that the Center position was on an upswing into the NBA, that it wasn't dead it just wasn't the most talented position anylonger. Now that many Centers are now hitting their primes teams are realizing "small ball" is no longer at the center of a team's outlook. Shoutouts to Centers: Clint Capella, Robert Williams, Nicholas Claxton, Jarrett Allen, Nikola Vucevic, Nikola Jokic, Christian Wood, Myles Turner and Domantas Sabonis, Ivaca Zubac, Jonas Valunciunas, Bam Adebayo, Brook Lopez, Karl Anthony-Towns, Steven Adams, Mitchell Robinson, Nerlens Noel, Moses Brown, Jusuf Nukic, Joel Embiid, DeAndre Ayton, Rachaun Holmes, Jacob Poetle, Khem Birch, Rudy Gobert, Thomas Bryant who are all contributing to this resurgence.

  • PREFACE Jokic is a unique and excellent player. There were two players that did something no one has ever done in the history of the NBA - Curry, and Westbrook. Westbrook is eliminated from MVP because despite playing with another all-star player in Beal and in a weaker Eastern conference, the Wiz had a losing record. Curry played 5 five last season and the Warriors won FIFTEEN GAMES! Actually, I think this season, they would have struggled to win even 15 games without Curry. NBA MVP voters do not consider defense. So my pick would have been Curry. Speaking of defense, I found something that rated the top 50 players' defensive stats. Curry is #41. Jokic is nowhere to be found. Further, the 7'0" 270lb Jokic was outrebounded by a 6'3" 180lb point guard!

  • Yea, Jokic got to be an MVP because he played in all the games...it doesn't matter he almost averaged a triple-double as a freaking CENTER! Also, he played much of the season without his best teammate Jamal Murray. The amount of disrespect Jokic is getting is ridiculous. I'm glad the media is choosing the MVP, if it were up to the players they would pick Steph Curry because they like him better.

  • Jokic dominates the game way more than embiid. What are these guys talking about. His hands are all over the game. Everything the nuggets do on offense is initiated by Nikola. There's a difference between the way embiid plays and the responsibility jokic has to generate offense for the entire team. Even if the numbers can be similar at times, the way they get those numbers is completely different.

    • @FatalityCSTV GIANNIS WAS ALSO DOMINANT THE WHOLE SEASON AND THE BUCKS HAD THE BEST RECORD IN THE ENTIRE NBA - IF THEY WASN'T GON* GIVE IT TO EMBIID- CP3 SHOULD'VE GOTTEN THE MVP - PLUS INJURIES ARE A PART OF THE GAME- C-RONA IS HERE - SOOOOOO THEY MAAAADE AN EXCUSE JUST FOR jokic TO BE THE FIRST BIG MAN AFTER SHAQ/ WHITE PRIVILEGE AT IT'S BEST- LET'S TALK!!

  • My God, the disrespect they give Jokic routinely on this network is staggering. Alan Hahn mentions two producers are Sixers fans and basically admits they're pissed off and forcing this Embiid vs. Jokic narrative in this segment when it should be focused on praising Jokic's accomplishment. Well, shame on you producers for letting your bias dictate your content, you both are jokes to your profession and should be embarrassed. Keyshawn I don't even know where to begin with him, nearly every word he says on the topic is either uninformed or idiotic. He should not be allowed to talk basketball. Period.

  • NBA journalists follow the NBA every day and think and write about the league every day. They know what they're talking about. Keyshawn Johnson admitted that he doesn't and somehow people (casual fans) take his side over NBA journalists. He might not look like it, but Nikola Jokic is legit! His game speaks for itself. Watch it!
